Ok, I am really pissed right now. I got some razor g7's and I made a p-rail. I can skate really good and stuff but I tried grinding. I have been trying to grind my rail for at least 5 hours within two days. I can't grind for s*$@. I have tried practicing by stalling and all that but it doesn't help. Every single time my feet slide forward and I fall towards the direction I started at. When I start with my right foot closest to the rail and spin onto the rail and I slide maybe a foot, give or take, and my feet slip out from under me, my feet keep sliding in the correct direction but my body falls back. It all happens so fast I barely even feel like I'm sliding at all. So basically I suck and I need tips. WTF am I doing wrong. Thanks in advance for any help.
btw, I am trying to do the frontside grind.

try spreading your feet out more, same thing happened to me when i started to learn to frontside. even if you have to exaggerate how spread out your feet are at first your should be fine

also, if you have trouble with that, try a soul or makio, they fel much more stable than a frontside. that way you'l be able to get the feel of your prail.

bend your knees a little and do you go at the rail from a angle?

its all about weight placement and center of gravity. keep your head placed directly centered between both feet. the lower you get it, the more you'll slide. lower center of gravity will keep you moving on the rail. but yeah, a soul grind or a makio would probably be a better way to start.

spread you legs a little more than sholder width apart, when your about to jump on the rail lean forward, and try to maintain that lean while bending you knees.
keep leaning forward, till you can get more relaxed with the grind, then youll start centering ourself

you probably need to lean forward more because if you lean back when you jump on the rail your skates are going to go forward and your bodys not. just lean forward and stay above your skates

try grinding the other way--put the other foot in front. OR, get a practice rail and a rope or some shit and tie it to a tree. Then position your feet and pull on the rope. OR, put the rail under a tree and hang onto a branch and practice sliding your feet along the rail. Either way, you will need a tree.

Try coming at it with very little speed. Try whatever grind you are doing and if that doesnt work just try stepping on.

U'll get it eventually, i was the same way, i thought that just by jumping on the rail i would grind, and i ended up falling like you did. Remember that when you rollerblade, ur using your whole body, push urself when grinding, I cant explain it well, but it's how i do it, i have to feel like i'm in the grind, and not just my feet

this sound dumb, but try to jump and keep your feet as wide as you can. You will feel awkward, but you won't have your feet slide out from you. Then just bring your feet closer and closer together until you feel where that sweet spot is. Once you get your confidence, you will realize that it is SOOOO much easier then you are making it out to be. I did the same thing when I was learning, but really in order to get a good frontside, all you really need to do is touch your H blocks and sink... that is on about anything. You will understand once you get it.. It is kind of like surfing, you have to feel it and it is something you have to get for yourself. Try getting something to hold onto to keep your balance and just jump on a slanted rail. Either way, just keep trying it, it will come to you and you will love it.
